While standing on the tall end of the spectrum for a Kobold, Irthos retains the race's lithe, elongated build. This is usually covered up, however, as his dark leather armor provides most of his body with a thick padding, and he wears a dark cloak over that as well. Atop his head, he continually wears a short tophat with a cloth strap tied beneath his jaw to hold it in place.

Its not a nice world. Those who live in the Six or in Arkhosia have it easy. The races outside the walls? Not so much.
See, when you're on the outside, you only survive if you're one of three things: exceedingly strong, extremely quick, or just downright stealthy. The Kobolds survive through a mix of the last two. Irthos' clan survived that way for a long time, living in hidden homes beneath the surface while quickly hunting for food above. It worked out very well, for generations.
Until the dark dwarves dug up from beneath and attacked them inside their very homes. One massacre later saw the remnants scattering every which way. That was when Irthos was just a child. He followed one of their escape tunnels, and just kept running and running as far as his little legs could take him in the dark.
Had there been any light, maybe he would have noticed when he walked into a piece of the Shadowfell - and when he walked out of it, he took a piece of it along with him, and not just in his darkened body...
Well, suddenly homeless in a land where being young and alone makes you food, he did the only thing that it occurred to him to do. He went to the High Roads and waiting for a traveling band to come in sight, called for help. Now, normally the races tend to dislike Kobolds ... but this one was little more than two feet tall and quite clearly a helpless child.
They just couldn't be that heartless. A rope was tossed, a lifeline was taken, and the kobold made his way with them to Arkhosia, where he found himself a library, a world of secrets... and a banjo.
He's in constant motion now, traveling to anywhere and talking to anyone he can to get some answers, picking up more than a handful of tricks to keep himself alive and self-sufficient. He prefers having a large wall of meat and armor nearby though...
